Neglected beehives

I rescued a neglected beehive from a local who could no longer keep bees. Having not been looked after, there was a risk that the hive could carry diseases. While the hive was free from disease, the presence of frameless honeycomb within the hive can be a biosecurity issue. This is because the comb cannot be inspected regularly by the beekeeper, and could harbor pests.
Given the conditions, bees will make the most of any room within the hive. Check out the intricate bee comb this hive produced.
